2017 Nobel Prize in Chemistry awarded
November 8, 2017
Professor Joachim Frank, a biophysicist at Columbia, won the 2017 Nobel Prize in chemistry on Oct. 4, 2017. He and his two fellow winners developed the field of cryo-electron microscopy, in which powerful electron microscopes are used to study frozen biomolecules.
Our Capital Project Management team is proud to have supported his work and that of other CUIMC researchers through a 2016 mechanical infrastructure project in the William Black Building that supported a new electron microscope for the Frank Lab and the Fernandez Lab.
