Commencement volunteers celebrate the Class of 2018
May 24, 2018
Each year, Commencement activities require an astonishing amount of coordination, strategy, and finesse—and volunteers from across Columbia University Irving Medical Center rise to the occasion.
This year, our volunteers donned the white polo shirt, a smile, and even a raincoat to help more than 10,000 guests navigate the streets, find their seats, and celebrate the Class of 2018. Many of our colleagues have volunteered for several years; others joined the volunteer ranks for the first time. All took pride in supporting our graduates and honoring their journey toward their shared calling—to transform lives for the better.
