Schaefer Awards Gallery Debuts Enhanced Seating Plan

In a continued effort to enhance campus life for members of the CUIMC community, Schaefer Awards Gallery—adjacent to Alumni Auditorium—recently unveiled an expanded indoor seating plan.
The new furniture creates a welcoming space ideal for casual lunches, quick study sessions, or simply taking a breather in the heart of the medical center campus. “By upgrading the Schaefer Awards Gallery with flexible, comfortable seating, we’re creating a prime on-campus spot for collaboration or simply unwinding,” says Madeline Julian, assistant vice president of Capital Projects.
A Place to Suit Every Mood
- Community Tables: 16 high-top chairs around two large tables, plus four round high-top tables for group gatherings or more social dining.
- Lounge Chairs & Coffee Tables: Six lounge chairs and two sets of round coffee tables for relaxed conversations.
- Banquette Seating: Two banquettes along the walls, each paired with a rectangular table and chairs—perfect for a cozy dining nook.
- Casual Corner Seating: Four chairs and two small coffee tables, offering individual seating or space for one-on-one meetups.
- Hospitality-Inspired Design: Durable, stylish furniture that can be quickly rearranged to accommodate everything from daily use to special events.
By offering another comfortable spot to eat, study, or take a quick break, Schaefer Awards Gallery helps address the need for additional on-campus amenity spaces.
