What’s your favorite part about the holidays?
I often work through the holidays since it’s quieter and less busy, which I enjoy. When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling. I like traveling to Saudi Arabia, especially during Ramadan, and to Africa, to reconnect with family. I’ve been in New York City since 2003, so I really cherish the time I get to spend with them.
What’s your favorite gift you have ever received?
A friend gave me a watch once, which I greatly treasure. Recently, someone brought me cupcakes! It doesn’t matter how big or small a gift is, what matters most is the intention with which it was given.
What is your favorite part about working in Public Safety?
I’ve been part of Public Safety for 17 years, working in the same role the entire time. I love every aspect of my job—getting to work across all the different buildings keeps things interesting and enjoyable.
How do you like to spend your time when you’re not working?
In addition to traveling, I like sports a lot. I jog and run a lot. I also love to cook. Jolof rice is my favorite thing to cook.
Who has made the biggest impact on you during your time here?
My bosses, Luis [Rodriguez], Karla [Buchting], and Rich [Medina] are all fantastic. I cannot complain and I love being here. It truly is my home.
